Kim Renders (Queen's University)

Kim is a theatre artist of more than 35 years in the industry. Since coming to Queen's in 2006 she has engaged with diverse Kingston communities to create original theatre that strives to gives voice to the disadvantaged, marginalized, and hidden. Her work is not necessarily issue-based or blatantly political, but rather aims to infuse a sense of joy and celebration through collaborative artistic practice. Her large-scale artist community collaborative performances combine spoken word, music and movement, projections, testimonials, poetry, puppetry and pageantry. She is a founding member (with Dan Vena and Robin McDonald) of Chipped Off Performance Collective, the only Queer/feminist performance group in Kingston.
