Virginia Maclaren (University of Toronto)

I have four areas of research interest in waste management. The first is NIMBYism: how and why it occurs, how it changes over time, and how it is represented in the media.

The second is Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) and how EPR policies are developed and un-developed.

The third is changing perceptions about Waste-to-Energy.

The fourth area of research interest is food waste in the Global North and Global South.

You can learn more about me and my research at my university website. I am also associated with the Waste Econ program.
